I understand the reasoning, I just disagree with it. I think this should have been handled (no pun intended) as a foul in the build-up. If you think that there is no foul, then of course there’s no reason to disallow the goal. But as far as I know, refs usually award a free kick in similar spots.

He still intercepted the ball directly leading to a goal. I don’t think he did anything wrong necessarily, but I still think it has to be a free kick for handball. I wouldn’t give a penalty in most instances though.

But isn’t this the case for non-foul handballs? Surely Joelinton’s handball was a foul, no matter how natural or unintentional it was.

Kulusevski’s elbow was far more deserving of a red card than that tackle from Caicedo was though. I do understand that those have been given as reds quite frequently, but I thought Caicedo should have got a yellow and no red was fair. Would have definitely been a different game if he was sent off

Both of the penalties were purely unnecessary. Chelsea created very little threat to our goal realistically, but somehow we end up conceding four anyways. This should have been a draw at minimum, I’m way more worried about the performances against Bournemouth, Ipswich and such.
