Happy Holidays from the CEP! While this year brought many challenges, it also offered an opportunity to center, reflect on, plan for, and act on equity in early education - and for that, we are thankful.

Wishing children & their loved ones a restful end to 2024.

Libraries matter now more than ever. They stand for the powerful idea that knowledge is free and belongs to everyone. In a time when books and free thought are under threat, we must defend and support our libraries and librarians—they are guardians of access, learning, and freedom.

Parenting is hard because it requires so much self reflection, and not just in the ways I imagined it.

The same way that I see my kids, they also see me.

If you as a parent do not want your child to read about something, that is your job as a parent to oversee their reading. It should absolutely not affect what children who are not yours are reading.

Does anyone else get to the end of a book/tv series and feel really sad that their journey with those people is over? I feel a bit pathetic typing it but I’ve been miserable at the end of a great book
