You're not persuading the children but the parents, and that requires actual money spent on cycle lanes, wardens, etc., not hand-wringing and empty platitudes. If you're serious about the environment and health do something to make it safer to cycle, don't just wish for it and wait for election day.

I think most of us are drivers and riders, and after walkers too. If you like the outdoors you are quite happy to be out, however.

So many people resent children riding their bikes either on the road, or on the (sometimes shared access) paths. It's hostile.
