Decided to try a new project with leftovers.
You can see where I changed to a 1 in 4 chainmail weave from the 1 in 6 (much tighter) in order to get the buckle prong through the belt.
Not sure what else I could have done as I really like the 1 in 6 weave and wanted the belt in that style.

Have been making my adult son a chainmail shirt for his Link costume using the smaller thinner rings with a 1 in 4 weave. Decided to try making g a belt with some larger thicker rings I had left over from another project. The first row is fairly easy. Adding the second row is a real bitch😣
