Good pull. Ike & Tina Turner originated the song, written for them by Alline Bullock, Tina Turner aka Anna Mae Bullock’s sister. Simone’s version definitely elevated an already great song by pushing the psychedelia further.

I understand the concept of a mandate, and Mamdani has one if anyone does. The right tends to say the left never has a mandate, like that we have to win big to govern; it’s worse democracy to not let winners enact what a majority wants giving the minority a tacit win despite losing.

I know Pirro from the Jinx seasons, as I don’t make a habit of listening to wine-drunk weirdos. She couldn’t catch Robert Durst. She’s so bad at her job, she couldn’t catch and convict Robert Durst. All it took was a doc, a hot mic and a misspelled envelope and JP couldn’t replicate a confession.
