"Being queer and devout often means living with paradox, and paradox demands maturity. It means living in mystery, and mystery, at its heart, is spiritual." Taiwo Adepetun's piece is a beautiful and profound exploration of how faith and queerness are intertwined.

I want to be crystal clear:

My religion requires access to gender-affirming care and, indeed, *obliges me* to seek and defend that access for others.

Any laws that obstruct this are infringing on my religious freedom. As a Christian. ⚓

Today, we’re announcing the preview release of ty, an extremely fast type checker and language server for Python, written in Rust.

In early testing, it's 10x, 50x, even 100x faster than existing type checkers. (We've seen >600x speed-ups over Mypy in some real-world projects.)

I've noticed my software development philosophy is migrating from asking 'how can I get my code to do the desired task' to 'how can I minimize the likelihood of my code doing the wrong thing.'

The latter is much broader and much harder than the former, of course.

My Garmin doesn't have an activity setting for 'chasing energetic children through a soft play center,' but it really should. Cardio AND upper body AND mobility work all one go.

I've been using Postgres for 20 years, but I learned a bunch of new things about it this week. It never ceases to impress me.

Spent the morning in our favorite coffee shop discussing the interaction of queer theory and pneumatology. This is what happens when nerds go on dates.

I sometimes think I'm in a minority of programmers that think that function-coloring is a very good thing.
