Sorry to keep banging this drum, but in ways big and small, the point of shoving “ai” into these devices is to insert the tech as a replacement for interpersonal relationships and foster distrust in your own assessments of how you feel.

I see no difference between reacting to some random woman’s wrongdoings by talking about her being ugly and unfuckable and this behavior, and frankly the two behaviors are basically identical, give or take a couple layers of abstraction.

If you want to know why I drip with disgust about these companies it’s because I love technology and I hate them for what they’ve done to the computer. It has never been perfect, but four or five companies decided that it had to be this bad, and they should be treated like war criminals for it.

Learning to sew is my way of liberating myself from the fatfobic system that states I'm not allowed to wear good looking clothes.
Historical approach to clothing (made to last, no wasting fabric, fitting to the body) helped me to get a healthier outlook and say screw you to the machine

Not only were bullies clear that I wasn't really a girl, so was most of the clothing that was available for me to purchase. I went pretty directly from little kid clothes to "women's petites" and then "plus sizes" at a time when clothing for fat people was mostly about hiding that you had a body

Finally, I'm in a social space where people sharing my experience exist.
Now to more of my general point: there was no safety in being degendered, and no freedom. Because the binary exists to police the lines of acceptable manhood & womanhood, and being shoved out of it increases your vulnerability. You're degendered, and without an approved gender, dehumanized

I think there's other stuff about wanting certain bodies available for sexual exploitation and child bearing/raising, but the fundamental fear trans people represent is that manhood isn't special, anyone can have it, and not everybody wants it.
Trans men represent the "anyone can have it" part.

I think a huge error that's often made in analysis of trans men's political situation is framing it as "the intersection of hatred towards trans people and hatred towards men" rather than "the trans version of hatred towards potential usurpers of hegemonic manhood"
