Called "hot & honest" by Publishers Weekly, a "literary siren" by Good Vibrations, and "charming as fuck" by a friend. Writer of multiple genres under miscellaneous pen names. 24/7 caregiver to a stroke survivor. The nut inside the pit of an apricot.
It feels appropriate to share this blue sky on Bluesky. This is a link to a "happy list" piece... www.patreon.com/posts/121792...

I've written a starter guide for caregivers who are at the beginning of their journey. Please share if you know one. www.patreon.com/posts/121415...

I'm writing a piece about caregiving for new caregivers. I'm trying to cram in a whole lot of information for folks who may be floundering. I really hope my experiences can help other people on their (I hate this fucking word) journey.

Please consider joining me on Patreon. You're supporting an indie writer, and a caregiver, and a long-time smutster.

On Saturdays, we share our happy moments from the previous week. I find this is a good exercise to point out to my brain that yes, Virginia, there were happy moments. www.patreon.com/posts/121196...

As I've been a bit remiss on the latest @trollopwithalaptop.bsky.social bookclub, a train trip presented the perfect opportunity to catch up.

I loved this. It always feels wrong to love something that’s expressing someone else’s real sadness but you always capture it so beautifully. Thank you, as always, for writing the way you do.

#Caregiving is not for the faint of heart. Or the dizzy of heart. Wobbly of heart. Caregiving takes a lot out of you and then asks for more. www.patreon.com/posts/120963...

I can imagine a time when AI doesn't understand our abbreviations, so if a company offers help 24/7, AI might "help" you 247 times.

I think writers are sponges soaking up everything that we see/hear/feel. Because I am working on an article about alternate universes, and my piece includes lyrics from two very different songs and quotes by authors separated by hundreds of years.

My eldest and granddaughter are going on an adventure. That's what my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter told me. Actually, they're helping my son move a sofa. Friendly reminder that anything can be an adventure.

I used to write A LOT as Alison Tyler, for those who are new to me here. But an adult star coopted my pen name, and her fans were pretty aggressive, so now I just fly under the radar with whatever name I feel like using. I was once called a Trollop with a Laptop. Hence: Alison Trollop.

Things are pretty bleak, and I'm trying to do my best, which I'm always trying to do. But this is what caregiving can look like after nearly 62 months, and yeah. I still count in months. www.patreon.com/posts/120959...
