He/Him

Hyper fixating on sculpey atm.

Video games, Board games, Godzilla, Mechs, Gunpla, Miniatures, Kirby.

Save the animals.
They've got a crazy filmography that's for damn sure. It's a lot of movies and they're mostly all very good!

I guess if we count animated stuff Hayao Miyazaki is up there for me. Perhaps Raimi and George Miller? Certainly less films there. Michael Mann perhaps? Wes Anderson? Ahhhh

Lot of character in these moonstone minis. Lovely paint job too!

I think the suspend and resume is wicked on deck but it frequently breaks for me. I'll get audio issues and stuttering if a game was suspended for too long. So quite often I have to reboot the game anyway...
November 14, 2025 at 3:00 AM
Yeah the steamdeck rules. Big fan of it here too.

I just turn my pc on when I wanna game and then turn it off. SSD mean it boots about as fast as the resume animation on my deck.

But certainly don't think cec support would be bad either tho. Just not important for me really.

Yeah look that's totally fair. I don't like Windows either! I hope Linux gaming takes off in a big way. I don't fault anyone for wanting a steam box either just suggesting that people looking to game in the lounge try their PC too. Could save you a bunch of money.
November 14, 2025 at 2:47 AM
OK! I literally plug a hdmi cable in and that's it. It auto detects 4k and turns hdr on. It switches from my 2.0 desktop setup to my 5.1 surround sound automatically and I use an 8bitdo controller and have never had a single issue with it.

I like proton a lot tho and I'm excited for its future.
November 14, 2025 at 2:44 AM
Bro I hate Windows. I love proton!

But if you have a Windows gaming pc it really is as simple as plugging in a hdmi cable and grabbing a controller. I agree Windows ain't great for gaming but if you're already gaming on your PC it's not hard to also get going on your TV in the lounge.
November 14, 2025 at 2:33 AM
Yeah and you can run big picture mode through steam just fine on normal windows.

But yeah it's a cool stepping stone for people to get into the steam eco system. But if you already have a PC you can absolutely rock that thing connected to a TV. I've been doing so for years!
November 14, 2025 at 2:31 AM
Oh for sure. My pc is on wheels and it's one room over so no big deal but if you need it in the office then moving it every time probably not ideal.

But for me moving the pc takes 2min and it's got a lot more grunt than the steam box.

I think I'll get one to handle my media and for my son tho.
November 14, 2025 at 2:29 AM
I think also the market is for people wanting to get away from windows too. Obviously you can already do that but the steam proton experience is very nice and easy now.

But yes if you have a pc and wanna game in the lounge you should just plug it in and try it.
November 14, 2025 at 2:22 AM
I'm talking to someone who already has a pc and says they just don't wanna sit at it at the end of the day.

If you've already got a PC I'm just suggesting that perhaps you try it plugged into the TV!
November 14, 2025 at 2:07 AM
I just plug my hdmi cable into my pc and boot into big picture mode.

I mean if you didn't have any pc experience the steam box is a good option. Hell I'm considering one for handling my media stuff and for my son to game on. But if you can use a pc you can plug a hdmi cable into one I think lol

I agree but also people love to get around the hype.

So many people got around Silksong without playing HK.
November 14, 2025 at 1:55 AM
The form factor is cute for sure. You can just plug a pc into a TV already tho.
November 14, 2025 at 1:51 AM
Yeah I'll probably pick up some of the plastic. The designs are all so good!

I know they had a lot of trouble with print machines dying and trying to keep up with the frankly wild amount of demand. Suffering from success indeed!
November 14, 2025 at 12:44 AM
This roll out has been a bit of mess from what I've seen. I ended up just backing the book and kitbashing my minis. Love the official sculpts but I don't do 3d printing and the shipping was killer to get them printed by the TC folk.

"Do it on the couch, PG movie on the Roku
Cushions get so wet that it feels like tofu"

It's wrapped back around to be kinda good. Maybe that's too far or I'm just the right amount of sleep deprived but it's hitting the direct line to the funny bone for me.

This shit is soooooo funny.
November 13, 2025 at 11:52 PM
It's seriously impressive. Can dry ya damn car with it lmao.

Highly reccomend this wolfbox electric duster. Removes dust even better than canned air imo.
