The Paperbacks from Hell series is great! Reminds me of swapping books in middle school. Thanks for picking this one @gradyhendrix.bsky.social

I’m great at back cataloging music, but less great with books. Reading a Ross McDonald from the 40s and realizing it makes me happier than many new books. It also raises questions like when did folks stop saying “what goes on?”

Elmore Leonard blows me away. I read his Raylan this weekend which is one the best constructed crime novels I’ve read in a long while. Thank goodness I’ve only read 10 or so of his books, so many more to enjoy

Picked up this very old book on a lark...and it's wonderful! Crisp, interesting writing, interesting similar and different PoV from our current era and covers many topics new to me (economic development in the 19th century, for example.) Part of the American Rivers series.

Visited Bucket O Blood books in Chicago this week. What a great store! Wonderfully curated, great staff. Any other good genre bookstores out there?

Finally got American Tank Ace on the table. I don't play solo games very often, but this one works. I also feel a lot of new sympathy for Sherman tank crews...
