Suburbs to Minneapolis girl. Working on giving the benefit of the doubt to people who don’t deserve it.

Cancer sucks. Miss you, dad.

If you claim you aren’t going to work with ICE, mind your damn business when they come to town.

It seems when ICE wants protection from the people of St. Paul, the police are willing to take the call but when the people of St. Paul need protection from ICE, they can’t be bothered

Can’t stress this enough!
spoke with the executive director of my local food bank today and got this really incredible line: "if you donate 1 can of green beans, we can give away 1 can of green beans. but if you donate a dollar, we can give away 6 cans of green beans"

it doesn’t get any clearer that america’s betrothal to fossil fuels is about letting energy companies pick our pockets to prop up their obsolete industry
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

Andrew Cuomo gave more money in taxpayer subsidies to Elon Musk than the entire cost of Zohran Mamdani’s free bus plan.

It’s not unreasonable or radical to want our tax dollars to go to programs that help us, instead of as giveaways to billionaires.

This! Food shelves have more food buying power than you and can get more for your dollar.
When policy and elected leaders betray us, it’s up to the people to do what needs to be done.

If you can give cash to food banks, now is the time. Trust that they know how the stretch the pennies best, giving cash is the best way. Every donation, every share matters.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Follow the money.
Elizabeth Shaffer has more than doubled the fundraising of Katie Cashman in Ward 7. $248k to $119k.

Analysis: The lesson conservative lakes area DFLers learned from the Scott Graham debacle wasn't to find a better council candidate, it was to dump more money on it.

The monied interests have systemically destroyed the grassroots organizational processes in the DFL which signal to progressive voters and ideally *save* this $ for the bigger even-year fights.

They’re this money spreading the Kupchella hate message and ultimately undermining our larger cause.

We blue states have to figure out how to keep our federal tax dollars for ourselves.
"The president’s statement announcing the relief funding emphasized the number of times he won Missouri’s electoral votes, as if there were some kind of connection between his political support in the state and his eagerness to provide disaster aid..."

When they view neighborhoods as drive in destinations for suburbanites; losing essential services for communities that live there is a secondary concern.

Entertainment becomes the measuring stick. They see that income as the only way to “sustain” poorer areas. Instead of addressing root causes.
because also what businesses have been lost in uptown? all they talk about is restaurants like lagos taco. which sucks, but this is not the same as stevens square losing essential services like a pharmacy, a hardware store, a dollar store, and a thrift store for clothes and home goods in a poor area
