Be a Mentor rather than a Protector or Enforcer

As a GenX who just had her THIRD signed job offer rescinded due to the expanding impact of government cuts/changes, I wish them all better luck in their hunt.

So far it seems the reactions even to personal stories is that they are just some unfortunate collateral damage to “necessary” action.

In some industries, the GenX Professional layoffs started in 2023. Accelerating and compounding since.

USPTO was 850,000 applications behind and still had to pull all job offers, job postings, …. Will be interesting to see if/how RTO impacts attempts to keep or recruit technical experts as all this unfolds.
