This morning I discovered a pheasant had flown into the patio doors at full tilt.
It was seriously injured and I didn’t really know what to do.
So I held it gently, stroking it to keep it calm, hoping it had just winded itself.
It looked at me, then took its last breath.
Tonight, I shed a tear.
