That makes sense, however, if the treatment changes after they learn you’re Latino, isn’t that tied to racialized perceptions of your identity? Why wouldn’t that still be considered racism?

Again, just being curious so I can understand better. If a white Latino is treated worse after revealing their ethnicity, doesn’t that prove race/ethnicity plays a role in how they’re perceived? Why would that not count as racism?
