#Gabrielle is now a Category 4 #hurricane, passing safely east of Bermuda.
September 22, 2025 at 8:36 PM
A tropical wave in the east Atlantic will very likely be the next storm to track as it moves W/NW. The next name is Gabrielle. #flwx #gawx

One of only four Category 5 hurricane landfalls in the U.S. since records began in 1851-- the center of tiny-but-powerful Andrew hit a few miles south of Miami around 5am on August 24, 1992.

High Surf Advisory begins later today for our entire coastline as wave heights build and approach 6-10 feet at times tomorrow. Some beach erosion likely around the times of high tide as distant Hurricane #Erin passes by well offshore. #hurricane #surf #flwx

The threat for dangerous rip currents increases today at all beaches, with increasing surf through mid-week. Some beach erosion around high tides is likely. All thanks to #Erin , a powerful Category 4 #hurricane that will stay hundreds of miles east of FL/GA. #flwx #gawx

#Erin now with winds of 145 mph and a pressure of 935. Rapid intensification. #hurricane
August 16, 2025 at 12:04 PM
Hurricane #Erin is rapidly intensifying, as expected, and is now a major Category 4 #hurricane. The storm will remain a major hurricane for several days as it passes by well to our east. Dangerous swells and rip currents will reach our beaches Monday and last for several days. #flwx #gawx

#Erin has become a hurricane and will safely pass far east of our coastline next week. Erin will grow in strength and size through the weekend, likely becoming a formidable major #hurricane. Dangerous rip currents and swells will reach our FL & GA beaches early next week.
August 15, 2025 at 2:59 PM
#Erin will be a #hurricane soon. A long-term track in between the Bahamas & Bermuda remains favored, with greater uncertainty on just how close the storm eventually gets to the mid-Atlantic states. Dangerous swells/rip currents will reach our coast early next week.
August 14, 2025 at 3:01 PM
#Erin continues to quickly move west but, for now, is staying disorganized. This will change over the coming days and the storm is still forecast to become a major #hurricane. Confidence is increasing on a turn to the north far away from the southeast U.S.

Tropical Storm #Erin is moving quickly west and still expected to eventually become a major #hurricane this weekend. Beyond that, a turn north is currently favored which would keep the storm well offshore FL/GA. Surf and rip currents will increase next week.
August 12, 2025 at 8:45 PM
Tropical Storm #Erin is forecast to become the year's first major #hurricane as it crosses the Atlantic.
August 11, 2025 at 3:00 PM
We'll be watching a tropical wave over the next week with increasing odds of development. It is currently thousands of miles away from North America, so there is plenty of time to monitor its movement over the next 7-10 days. The next name is Erin.

New area highlighted over the eastern Gulf/west Atlantic for potential low pressure development around the July 4th weekend. Rain chances will remain elevated with plenty of moisture around & nothing of concern for now, but something to monitor. #flwx #gawx

Tropical Storm #Andrea has been named in the open Atlantic. It's very weak with hardly any thunderstorms now and will be no threat to land. #tropics
June 24, 2025 at 2:49 PM
More rain is coming later this week as a frontal boundary lifts north. As that happens, low pressure could form offshore & there's a low chance of any organized development. Either way, periods of rain & storms expected w/ coverage peaking along the coast Wed.-Fri. #flwx #gawx #tropics

Just like that, dry again. No rain expected over the next 7 days. #flwx #gawx

A mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain are likely across our viewing area Tuesday night into Wednesday. Generally inland SE GA will receive more snow, with greater ice accumulations possible near the FL/GA border region, transitioning to a cold rain SE of Jax.
January 20, 2025 at 8:52 PM
A rare Winter Storm Warning has been issued beginning Tuesday afternoon across much of our area. Accumulating snow and ice are likely across southeast GA and much of inland NE FL into Wednesday morning.

After widespread rain this weekend, temperatures drop sharply by Monday morning. Then focus shifts to an expected winter storm across parts of the deep south. Some frozen precip. is possible across part of our area, most likely SE GA and far N FL late Tue./Wed.
