Not excited for the follow-up post that says Mr. Bezos has just personally fired the author of this piece.

The correct framing is: “Respondents said they believed the Democratic Party has veered too far left…”

Welcome PAC, media, and other imprecise outfits presume perceptions are accurate rather than interrogate how & why those perceptions were formed.

They nominate him with decent regularity I’m pretty sure. For all kinds of off-the-wall reasons.

This is one of the more insightful and accurately observant exchanges I’ve seen on the coverage. Thank you, all.

I respect your consistency on political violence. Kudos for your seemingly deeply-held beliefs.
Awful news from Minnesota this morning. My thoughts are with the families of Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, and I pray for the recovery of Sen. John Hoffman and his wife. Political violence is unacceptable.

Excellent and correct framing, IMO. I’d also add that his vaccine statements and actions are harmful to us, our families, our children, our parents. He’s actively harming us because he can make even more money by doing so.

My instinct is that starting a war is for another reason. They’ve demonstrated pretty clearly they have no intention of listening to courts that rule against them and SCOTUS ratifies admin conduct every time. They don’t need the pretext.

Starting a war is serving another end IMO.

If the Republic survives Trump’s efforts to tear it down, it’s so tough to know how we can carry on with the Court as it’s currently constituted.

Roberts has shredded the Court’s veneer of legitimacy, perhaps irreparably.

Wildly irresponsible journalism. It’s simply not reasonable to pass this off to your readership credulously.

Roberts is a nearly nakedly partisan actor. At the very least, it’s flatly absurd to pretend he hasn’t been involved in the political fray to this point.

A man here legally, with a wife and child.

Everyone concerned about an out-of-control, power-hungry government should this admin’s targeting of innocent civilians for the anti-American threat it is.

They don’t care about the meaning behind the labels they ascribe to themselves or to those on the left. They only care about the labels’ political utility. And they get away with their hypocrisies and inconsistencies because everyone in the media’s agreed to keep using the right’s preferred labels.

The Trump admin doesn’t give a damn about our safety or military efficacy. Firing officers for truth-telling means we get less of it and are less safe for it.

@nbcnews.com, that’s the salient context for the headline, not that Kruse is another head on Hegseth’s wall.

And also, @nbcnews.com: has*

Seems like there’s curiously a meaningful bit of context left off this headline.

Credulous reporting by legacy media of Trump’s obviously pretextual narratives meant to rationalize his destruction of our conditional order should make clear that, even if we dig ourselves out of this, those media institutions cannot be trusted as objective information shepherds any longer.

There are countless absurd examples, including this and his canceling of the Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities, that show Trump has no problem tearing up anyone’s lives - here it’s farmers - so he can win what he sees as political points.

The Trump Campaign made all kinds of promises about peace in the Middle East to Michigan’s voters in Dearborn, Hamtramck, and beyond.

He never cared about peace, he just wanted their votes. While Netanyahu escalates his brutalization of the Palestinian people, Trump sits silent and impotent.

Thank you so much, Judy. My dad is indeed a huge fan of Thom’s. I feel like I don’t even have to listen to the show but I’m still always caught up.

I appreciate your calling attention to my unorthodox campaign. All the best.

One of the primary through lines of Trump/DCGOP policy-making is that they don’t give a single damn about us.

Here, one rich kid dilettante appointed by another rich kid dilettante destroying crucial medical resources for generations.

They’ll always get great care and do not care if we don’t.
