Thatcher's government did this with Section 28, banned the "promotion of homosexuality" as a danger to children, while actively protecting Jimmy Savile and who knows how many other pedophiles. It's the same damn playbook.

I cannot begin to properly articulate how upsetting it is to have had people baselessly accuse trans people of being groomers and pedophiles only for it to come out that they were deliberately doing this as part of a project to provide cover to actual groomers and pedophiles in positions of power

Buying out vendors has proven to be one of the more effective things we’ve been doing in LA. My friends have built a network of vendors who they give cash assistance to but also hire for catering, they can work safely at events with lots of people and relatively lower risk.

Yesterday, when Bovino announced ICE would be returning to Little Village today, some of us donated and fundraised to buy out street vendors in the neighborhood. This morning, volunteers hit the streets at 6:30 am, looking for vendors to buy out. Tamales make an excellent breakfast.

new: federal agents have targeted rideshare drivers at o'hare on at least ten separate days since october 10.

in some cases, agents returned to abduct drivers multiple times in a single day, taking as many as ten to 20 people each time.

This is accurate! SNAP is obviously important because it feeds people, but there is data showing it also reduces healthcare spending and has economic benefits too. As I always say, our country would gain a lot by spending even more on SNAP to give people true freedom in their food choices.

This is going to sound crass but SNAP is a more efficient use of money than food bank donations and if Republicans had done their jobs everyone would have food to eat, farmers would be getting paid and I could donate to different charitable causes this month than what should be covered by SNAP
