Reject any attempts to restrict trans people’s rights to access public bathrooms and other gendered spaces, which we have freely exercised for decades. Trans people have a right to access gendered spaces by self-ID (including prisons). End the testing of hormone levels in women athletes, which has led to the exclusion of gender non-conforming women. Transgender women have been competing in women's sports for many years. Regardless of their success, the question of their participation should be looked at fairly. Transphobia and misogyny have no place in sport. No athlete should be excluded on the grounds of being transgender.

Ensure that trans people are represented through a democratic structure in the party with a right to be consulted on all decisions specifically impacting trans people - nothing about us without us! Ensure party structures allow for the membership to have full democratic control over the party’s policies, agenda and who its representatives are. Create a systematic political education scheme which is compulsory for all elected representatives, which includes education about trans liberation.

They are as repulsed as we are by comments made by MPs, such as Adnan Hussain, and other less prominent individuals jockeying for position in the party. Founding Statement: Through member democracy, we have a safeguard against individuals using positions of influence to embed transphobia in the party’s policy programme and create a hostile environment for trans party members. - Trans Liberation Group Founding Statement: A democratic, member-led foundation can make trans liberation an integral part of the party programme, and use collective might to overthrow any self appointed party kings who believe their personal bigotry should undermine both our rights, and the principles of party democracy. - Trans Liberation Group Founding Statement: By campaigning for a democratic party with a member led founding conference, there is an opening for trans people to make a significant intervention in what could become the largest political party in Europe.
