The Voice of Translated Literature: a YouTube channel featuring translators reading from their own work | Founded in 2020 & run by Charlotte Coombe & Tina Kover 👯 | www.translatorsaloud.com
We are taking some time off from posting readings for a couple of months, to focus on our own translation projects over the summer. 😎 But you can still submit your readings (translatorsaloud@gmail.com); we will be posting again from early September onwards. Have a great summer, folks! 🍦

It seems like only yesterday that we started this little YouTube channel & now here we are, five years & several hundred videos later, immensely proud of the incredible repository of literary & translation talent we've showcased to the world. Thanks to all who contributed!🎉

For the last few years, Translators Aloud has been contributing to a bursary for the BCLT Literary Translation Summer School. In 2024 we funded a place for Makafane Tšepang Ntlamelle (@makafanentlamelle.bsky.social) who is a writer, among other things. He lives in Maseru, Lesotho.

Translators Aloud is a completely unfunded operation. Any funds we've raised over the years through your kind donations, or by doing feature weeks, collaborations & selling merch, have gone towards funding this #BCLT summer school bursary every year. Check our website for ways you can support us 🙏

Since 2022, #TranslatorsAloud has been contributing to a bursary for the #BCLT Literary Translation Summer School, either helping to fund a full place for a participant, or to cover travel costs...
Our first recipient in 2022 was Bryony Lau, who joined the multilingual prose workshop with @antonhur.
