Yeah I feel like the Preservation Alliance guys got more to do in the show than the book but weren't very well characterised til' the back half of the season and even then - just. *why* be shitty about Polyams. Just why.

I like aspects of the Murderbot show - but then I read all the Novellas and was really disappointed by the removal of all the queerness and genderfuckery, and also... I just don't think Murderbot specifically gets characterised very well? Show Murderbot is mean in the wrong way if that makes sense.

She's not as fast and also doesn't have the whole super-perception thing. In terms of power, Vapourwave is more versatile but Riot is more directly strong.

Honestly, she was never more than a nuisance, I don't think she was sufficiently skilled enough to GET a rival. Although the idea of an equally lame superhero who insisted she was her rival is VERY funny

She's also a reformed villain!

She's got super speed, but regular reflexes and perception. She can't do the quicksilver thing where time slows down from her perspective. So while she can move as fast as someone like the flash, the faster she goes the less control she has. Like Deku, just with speed instead of strength!

Tim's an actual interesting likeable character, though. Like saying who Damian's related to isn't a character trait. That's not something that makes him a compelling character. It's backstory. It's one part of a backstory.

The Bat Family was a real family until Damian showed up and ruined everything, because again, that was why he was created. Now that the Batfam has outlasted him, he has no place in it. There's no role he can occupy that isn't better filled by someone else. So get rid of him, or un-make him.
