That whole LiveJournal-entry-ass thread about my therapist was originally apropos of, talking with her today reminded me that this past Sunday I woke up, wrote this, and fell right back to sleep lol.

Who needs therapy when you’ve got prog dreams, amirite? 🙃 (I am not right. For the record. But 🤷🏻‍♀️)

ok so Chi is a social butterfly—but not a flighty, random one; a proactive, purposeful one. She is like unto the cryptid known as “mothman,” but pretty (and eschewing of subtlety 😉).

Thank you to everyone who was so supportive & kind as I low-key crashed out on main last night 😅 time changes, amirite?

Just before I went to sleep I made a little list of “things that were good about today,” and that helped. As did the nice long sleep itself, lol

(I have a cheap 3rd party controller w/a “turbo” button so I bought 30 tyrunt fossils, got in front of the fossil guy, saved, and set the controller to spam “A.” Then every 7min 30sec I check the box, see none blue dinos, say “darn,” reset to last save, repeat lol)

(just normal trans girl things 🤷🏻‍♀️)

And if you think “gosh Jen that team doesn’t have much to deal with opposing fire types” you should have seen when I was trying to have Gourgeist and Klefki instead of Gyarados and Krookodile. Yeah, to fight “Team Flare.” I’m so good at Pokémon

ok so continuing with the tale of Marcy the Shiny Snorunt! She trained with me up to the level where a Snorunt of any gender will start trying to evolve into Glalie, unless it’s given other options. So we got her b̶l̶o̶c̶k̶e̶r̶s̶ a Dawn Stone and e̶s̶t̶r̶a̶d̶i̶o̶l̶ Froslassite, and… Marcy the Shiny (Mega) Froslass!
Jen’s trainer stands on a rooftop facing the rising sun. The little knee-high Snorunt stands next to her, wrapped in its blue cloak. Marcy the Snorunt has evolved into a Froslass, a floating Ice/Ghost Pokémon. From Bulbapedia: Froslass is a regal, humanoid Pokémon with a hollow torso that resembles a kimono. It wears a magenta band around its waist, reminiscent of an obi. Its body lacks feet and it floats in the air like its counterpart, Glalie. Its arms are connected to the sides of its head and flare at the wrists. The flared portion has a dappled light blue coloration. Its hands consist of three small fingers. Froslass's head is shaped similar to a sideways water droplet and is topped with two ice crystals that resemble horns. Its head has several holes on it, resembling a mask. Through two of these holes, crystal blue eyes with yellow sclerae can be seen. It also has a mouth below this "mask". now, still on the dawn rooftop, Marcy the Shiny Froslass has evolved yet further, into Mega Froslass! Taller and cooler looking. From Bulbapedia: Mega Froslass's body generally doubles in size, becoming taller in height and its horns growing longer and sharper. Its kimono-like torso now flows all the way down and has become layered in appearance, the bottom layers being purple and light blue. It has multiple ice crystals growing from the bottom of its body, some of which cluster together to form a snowflake shape. Mega Froslass does not levitate freely, but rather floats on top of a flat mass of cloud that emanates from the bottom of its kimono, the cloud itself barely touching the ground.

Guivre says “but I was persuaded by Lebanne’s motto: ‘the best defense is a good offense.’” Guivre holds her chin contemplatively again and says “though Lebanne can hardly talk—she can’t ever seem to win against Jacinthe.” Guivre concludes: “perhaps she should rethink that motto of hers…”

oh, one little addendum to this—found a side quest where another Society of Rich Jerks member wants to battle you. She starts talking about how big bad Dragon-types are weak to cute dainty Fairy-types… then she says:

Legends ZA t’other day I met Mega Froslass—*excellent* new design—so I went looking for a good Snorunt to evolve. “Wait, is that one blue?”—a Shiny!—“please be a girl”—it was!

I named the Snorunt after @beneprism.rip, bc I promised I’d name a Pokémon after her & shiny Snorunt matches her hair 💙🩵😉💖

But then, the chapter w/Lebanne unlocks a clothing store you've been insufficiently fancy to enter previously. They give you one item for free—a red damask suit—and your character even gets an "I make this look good" stroll out of the shop lol

Ofc obviously, I had to spring for the purple damask… 🤷🏻‍♀️

It may be worth mentioning that this is Jacinthe, btw: a petite Black woman with *gigantic* lavender hair, matching outfit, and just absolutely ruthless in getting what she wants (this game supports women’s wrongs even more than Scarlet [somehow] and I love it for that). This is who leashed Lebanne.

Once you beat her in a Pokémon battle—she specializes in Dragon-types; far from the Fairy/Normal/Psychic/maybe Water palette that Pokémon typically codes as feminine—she explains:
Lebanne sits on a rock next to the corner of a building. She says “I used to be a fighter back in the day. The kind that only seeks out the strongest opponents.” Lebanne’s monologue continues as she wears an expression of fond reminiscence. “Yeah, I like settling fights with my Pokémon AND my fists. Don’t like it? Then don’t mess with me.” Lebanne’s face falls as she tells her tale. “Anyway, two years ago, I got totally annihilated in battle by Jacinthe, and I’m still paying for it.” Lebanne stares off with a haunted expression. “Now I’ve gotta talk fancy and wear this crazy getup all because I promised her I would.”

In Pokémon Legends ZA, set in Poké-Paris, there’s a society of evil rich people. You end up cornered by their leader Jacinthe’s demure, deferential lady-in-waiting Lebanne. But once you defeat Lebanne’s lackeys…
