I read Swamp Thing: Love and Death, by Moore, Bissette, and Totleben at 12, and it was incredible. It presented my young mind with the idea that faith could be subjective, that evil was selfish and petty, and that love could find its own way. I was introduced to Horror and Beauty and Love.

At 40, I'm still learning new things about myself, and "Make Room for Love" by Darcy Liao came at the perfect time for me.

I normally have a hard time identifying with the protags in romance novels, but not this one.

Queer, cozy, sapphic, and leftist. Give it a read! darcyliao.com/make-room-fo...

And with any other artist, I'd reflexively write these off as stylistic choices.

But when you brag about your AI use and found an AI startup, one that specifically designs characters in an anime style, I feel like you lose the benefit of the doubt.

I'll admit that color and light aren't my forte, but when MtG hires an AI specialist to make them a card, AND the light sources on the art don't seem to line up: sus.

Toph is backlit from the right.
Her belt is lit from the foreground left.
Her left arm has a shine from the front right.

Reading 'Until I Love Myself: The Journey of a Nonbinary Artist' by Poppy Pesuyama and not only is it heartfelt, cute, and emotional, it’s got amazing moments that made me literally laugh out loud.

As winter approaches, the kodama are on the move.
Now where, exactly are they going?

Just finished Cheer Up and it is one of the sweetest trans and queer narratives I’ve read! It’s comforting, empathetic, and so beautiful that I ended up tearing up at the end. Hats off to Crystal Frasier @amazonchique.bsky.social Val Wise @valkwise.bsky.social and Oscar Jupiter for a lovely comic!

Found these cute little guys growing on my walk. I guess all the rain we’ve been having is letting the fungi have a fun time ^_^

Am I just being overly picky, or did Pokémon Legends ZA use AI slop *in* their game?

(Context—these are paintings in a museum in-game, depicting buildings/locations from earlier games)

It’s a good day for frogs, especially 17th/18th century artist Matsumoto Hoji’s wonderfully round and displeased ones.

As part of a lesson on comics, I once showed Gary Larson's "Luposlipophobia" comic to my gen-z students and asked if it was a comic by formal definitions.

Their consensus: "That's a meme."

Screw you, Cricut. I’ll take the soreness from hand-cutting my own stickers rather than deal with your anti-community stance.
