People like Ed Flynn constantly saying "i can't ride a bike so its useless for me so why build it?" Bike lanes are literally for everyone. Not to mention bikes can be design so you sit down in a regular seat. Ed is more like make excuses ignore facts & reality. We need better city councilors folks.
Two minutes of footage of wheelchair users on bike lanes in Paris. A classic video I posted on Twitter a few years ago I had not posted here yet.

Why do we accept in #mapoli that the Senate President who lives in Metro West can dictate property tax policy for the city of Boston? It’s time for home rule reform.

if you can make it to this please do folks. We should not have minimums in boston for parking...our city needs less cars not more. If anything amending this code to ban parking garages entirely would be grand (with a few exceptions for city/emergency and potentially construction)

#boston we can bring trains like this to north end to reconnect it to downtown by a tram, we could connect east boston easier by a tram too not just blue line. East boston needs more trains tbh. Honestly reconnect every major park to downtown by train

#boston we can do this
It's not just cutting traffic, it’s cleaning the air. A new Cornell study found that in the first six months of NYC's congestion pricing:

💨 Air pollution dropped by 22% in the core Manhattan zone.

🌳 The benefits spread to all five boroughs AND the suburbs!

Drop off and pick up for kids in #boston is stupid. Too many people forced to drive, and parents are reckless in parking if parking is allowed in front of the school. Today I saw a parent run over a one way sign trying to park... legit one block over is entirely empty parking on the street

Plowed protected bike lanes show how transformative #PlowTheSidewalks could be.

On streets like Milwaukee with plowed protected bike lanes, there is an alternative when a business shirks their legal & moral responsibilities after a snowfall.

Data from all over the world, and now #boston continues to show in an overwhelming amount that bike lanes reduce traffic congestion because the people that live IN THE CITY actually want to get around safer, and easier...that's a bike, walking, bus, or train. We won't choose car first given a choice

@wutrain.bsky.social @mayorwu.boston.gov please make sure that our bike networks are just as taken care of as the roads. This should be just as clean & safe as roads are. If we send trucks out for salting night before on roads, bike roads should have this too.

#boston @wutrain.bsky.social this is honestly a big problem. You see this massive tractor trailers on tiny streets...we really need to downsize the trucks allowed on most streets in Boston

The US Postal Service gets treated like a business, but at the end of the day it's a government service. It'll never happen under this administration, but it seems like we're due for a discussion about the USPS becoming a taxpayer-funded agency once again.

#boston we're in the exact same boat here. We're a small city, high density. Let's go all in and get back to creating a Network of trams that make it so you don't have to own a car to get around. Pair it with bike networks and you got a big win for mobility. Kids and elderly alike.
Taking off my pragmatic cap... Baltimore is an ideal city for a modern tram network given it's density, relatively compact size and need for more robust transit. Imagine the CityLink bus routes but as faster, more efficient trams. youtu.be/16PDVdPSeeQ?...

#massachusetts use to have similar things. Western Mass had a variety of incline trains like this that would bring people to the tops of mountains. We tore it all down for cars. Now without a car you can't get to 95% of the places in the state :(
This composition had eluded me for nearly a decade, but yesterday I was finally able to capture it. A train rolled through just as the Duquesne Incline was crossing over the tracks in #Pittsburgh, creating a picture perfect winter scene. It was worth the hours and hours I've waited over the years.

#boston we should create a neighborhood run team of sidewalk & bike lane clearing teams. Its managed by each neighborhood. You may even get volunteers who would help in certain areas who could sign up to assist. Get small bike lane clearing vehicles. Munich Germany has these. We could too!
