Emergency Alert day has been confirmed as 7th September. If you have a secret phone for safety go to settings and turn off all government notifications. Setting it to silent or airplane is not enough 🚨 (guidance on each step is on the internet). Spread the word

We celebrate the decade on decade improvement to life expectancy, but are we kidding ourselves, if we use number of birthdays as the indicator of life expectancy, and not balance this with quality of life,it raises the question; is life expectancy truly extending or are we just dying for longer?

I’ve been in the company of some amazing Public Health People this week. My take away lessons:
Knowing we won’t win isn’t a reason not to fight.
Stay angry about the inequities that continue thrive.
Know your purpose.
You don’t need permission to do the right thing.
Be the change.

That advice about never listening at the door is real. I over heard someone saying, [about me] No one is that nice 😂 1. How sad that ‘nice’ is seen as a threat.
2. I’m not nice (what a bland description) but I am, or at least try to remain kind. I was reminded of the work of Justin Mecham

TLDR: we are in a very big flu wave, but Covid levels are low & RSV decreasing. But we should consider extending eligibilty for annual flu (and RSV, Covid) vaccines.

A really important piece. Organisations need to be aware of where trauma shows up, and ensure people work in an environment which is safe and supportive, where we avoid internal processes and behaviours which further add to the risk of moral injury.
