A date which will live in infamy.

A quiet dawn. A sudden attack. An enduring legacy of courage. Today, we remember the servicemembers who gave their lives defending our nation at Pearl Harbor. Their sacrifice is woven into the fabric of our freedom.

Trump is just the worst! The National Park Service is reshuffling its free-admission schedule so that visitors get in free on Donald Trump’s birthday next year, while Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth (previously free days) will now require regular entrance fees.
National Parks are now free on Trump's birthday, but not on MLK Jr. Day or Juneteenth
The Trump administration overhauled the list of free National Park days for 2026.

Overall, water resources are looking strong to start December with all of CA major reservoirs at more than 100% of historical averages. And while frozen precip is lacking so far compared to last year, combined rain and snow has been above average including across the Central Sierra. 12/2/2025 #CAwx

Today's rain was about 0.75 inches -- give or take a tenth -- for most spots in the DC area. 0.86 inches officially for DC. One of the wettest days since midsummer. Good news for ongoing drought. Details and forecast update at cwg.live.

Sierra snowpack by region:
North: 18% (one year ago 248%)
Central: 31% (109%)
South: 83% (183%)
Fall storms have been warmer which is reflected in the low vs. average snowpack numbers to start December. Snow lagging at @UCB_CSSL but overall precip (rain+snow) is above average (warmer storms).

It has become abundantly clear that Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth are now losing part of their own party around these illegal strikes, and it is quite possible that they're losing support from inside the military itself.

We're still in the first quarter of our rain/snow season... but that big early lead we built is starting to fade away, as we head into the second week of dry weather. High pressure not only has helped to keep the storms away, but also helped to lock in our foggy pattern of late. 11/30/2025
