Thus, the leaders who we elected nominally to protect our democracy are not only FAILING to protect democracy, they're actively preventing communities from doing what is necessary to protect themselves.
It reminds me of the WTC facilities personnel who told 9/11 victims not to evacuate the towers.

Is AK an ally? If someone won't define clearly the stakes of a conflict, let alone take a position, how can one consider them any kind of ally?
I used to consider cynical the view that Dem pols were motivated by maintaining Beltway status and $. Now I think, with rare exceptions, it's just true.

I've been thinkg about this ~20 years. (I was one of the first JVP members outside the Bay Area when they went national c. 2005.) I'm currently staff with @IfNotNow but remain extremely supportive of JVP's work.

As importantly, treat it as a Trump loss. Nothing he hates more than losing, nothing will force him to lose trust in people faster than those who make him lose. And the people behind this move are no less dangerous today than they were yesterday.
