Visit in #Japan this year was too short. Lucky I am, in Spring I'll be visiting for 5 weeks and again, will be just cycling through the country. Got some unfinished business with #Shikoku, #KuragariTouge and finally gotta visit #Izumo.

Fight depression with #Photography.

Hiei Shrine in the morning. Part of a "demon seal" on so called unlucky directions - kimon(鬼門) and urakimon(裏鬼門). Planned by Tenkai for Tokugawa, when he was establishing Edo.

It's now a week since I've bought Ricoh GR III. I've already started thinking about selling my X-T4, since GRIII is so light and I can have it always with me (X-T4 with for example 16-55 is around 1.5kg...). Definitely been sitting too long on this purchase. GR IVx will be next. #GRIII converted.

I have this inner conflict. On one side, I absolutely love wandering alone with a camera during evening and nights. On the other, spending hot, long days out in the mountains in the saddle, balancing on the edge of a heat stroke - rawr!

When I got into road cycling, coffee became my "go to" hot drink. It was a no-brainer for me to plan my visit to Shikoku island around at least one good coffee spot. That spot was "Minna no Coffee/Eveyone's Coffee".

Bland and boring photo today. A picture that doesn't mean to appeal, but to remind what's most important. A short break in Kamiyama, before climbing remaining 25km towards Tsurugi-san. #Japan #travel #bikepacking #photography

Sun was our source of comfort, the moon was our companion during lonely nights and thunder was a reminder that there are forces stronger than us. We all started in similar places and that's why Shinto feels incredibly special to me. #Japan #photograpy #streetphotography #travel #bikepacking

As I walk around like a stalker with buds in my ears, when I visit that one city, always same song plays...

In my chest, sky's piercing brilliance
Today again, I look into the distance and shed tears

Place (Ochiai Village) you should know well if you had read "Forgotten Japan" by Alex Kerr. Shame that sun was going down and I skipped visit to see Chiiori. Maybe next year...

My whole idea of exploring Japan was always simple - as far away from big population centers as possible. Here, road that leads to Ochiai Village from side of Mount Tsurugi. It was a hellish day in the saddle, but creating memories is worth any pain.

Back alleys of #Nara. Every time I look at this photo I get a sense of sadness from that man's expression. Whatever the thought he was dealing with at the time, I hope he's through it. #Japan #streetphotography #photography #travel

Evening in #Nara. Behind me amazing #takoyaki spot. In front of me a random bus passing by. #Japan #travel #streetphotography #photography

Riding through #Hinoki, blessed with views of majestic #MountFuji all the time. Rice paddies carefully tended by local farmers. Brain occupied by never ending stream of new information to process. Truly alive. #Japan #bikepacking #cycling #photography #travel

What a ride down it was. When I got down to #Heda and stopped at SevenEleven took some time to look up towards the #IzuSkyline and was like "damn, I could ride this everyday for the rest of my life". Truly blessed with that memory. #japan #cycling #photography #bikepacking

We are back in #Nara, first major capital of #Japan. #Todai-ji in the background is well known, but for some reason I find normal people doing their job more interesting. #Japan #photography

Between #Nara and #Wakayama. It was a wet morning, but that's nothing that could've stop me. #Shikoku was getting closer and closer. I rememeber being in great mood on that day, singing "Hit The Road Jack" and thinking that I will have #IyaValley almost just for myself. #Japan #photography #cycling
