As a political scientist who studies countries that managed to stop the slide into authoritarianism, I can assure you that ***refraining from provoking the authoritarian*** is not how it works.

As both a Science Nerd and a Culture-worker in the arts (artist-poet) working from Anthropological and Ethological perspectives, I do have to wonder about some apparently rationalist and idealist arguments for defunding the humanities and the practice of culture.

In walking away from Capitalism; leaving it to Monetizing and Consumer Eras, I find that I must abandon "bourgeoise" ideas like ownership, intellectual property, and requisite compensation. (not that I mind being valued and compensated for being ME though. Your option)
