Stratford, IA F3 #Tornado – November 12, 2005! An F3 tornado ripped through Stratford as Ron Runyan raced his family to the basement. His 84-year-old mother, Lucille, was pulled away by the wind and killed when the home collapsed. At least nine tornadoes struck Iowa that night. buff.ly/iZcNm5K #iawx

Naples–Clewiston, FL F2 #Tornado – Nov 11, 1968! A waterspout came ashore near Vanderbilt Beach, destroying homes in North Naples before crossing Big Cypress Swamp and hitting a barn near Clewiston. Mr. and Mrs. Luxton and Charles Martin were injured as ranch hands sheltered nearby. buff.ly/zQ3JYFH

Van Wert, OH F4 #Tornado – Nov 10, 2002! Part of the Veteran’s Day Weekend Tornado Outbreak, an F4 tore across NW Ohio destroying Van Wert’s Twin Cinemas and killing four people, including a couple in Putnam County. Dozens survived after sheltering inside the theater. buff.ly/Srf5YYr #ohwx

Orange, TX F4 #Tornado – Nov 7, 1957! The strongest tornado of a major Southeast TX/SW LA outbreak destroyed 180 homes & ripped ships from their moorings. Two people were killed, including Annie Bell Peck. About 50 were injured as the storm devastated the Riverside Housing Project. buff.ly/eei4tYI

Celina, OH EF2 #Tornado – Nov 5, 2017! One of 24 tornadoes that day carved a 5½-mile path through Mercer County, injuring eight people & damaging dozens of homes and businesses. Roofs were torn away, windows shattered, and part of the Crown Equipment plant collapsed under EF2 winds. buff.ly/abqM3L0

Shamrock–Drumright, OK F4 #Tornado – Nov 4, 1922! A violent tornado swept through the oil fields of Creek and Pawnee Counties, destroying homes & scattering more than 130 oil rigs. Arcadia, LA F3 #Tornado – November 3, 1992!

A powerful tornado tore through Arcadia, damaging nearly 90 homes and businesses, including the First Baptist Church. Amid the wreckage, a young boy’s hug reminded Police Jury President Bill Sims how lucky they all were to survive.

Webb City, MO F3 #Tornado – Nov 1, 1922! Hit Webb City, MO after midnight. About 25 homes were destroyed. Mrs. Nancy Frad was found 100–200 yards from her home. Odd damage included a coal shed left standing between two demolished homes, and a car carried around a house. buff.ly/4UfDKlS #mowx

Baytown, TX F3 #Tornado – October 28, 1974! During rush hour, an F3 struck the south end of the Baytown tunnel. A dozen cars were lifted and thrown, and Mr. Theo Hines was killed when his car went over a 20-ft wall. Homes and a maintenance garage were also damaged. buff.ly/z4kmGIb #txwx #OTD

Lincoln County, MS F2 #Tornado – October 27, 1980! A quick-hitting F2 struck the Loyd Star Community, injuring Mr. and Mrs. Wadell Britt when their trailer was hit. The Loyd Star School’s gym, shop, and other buildings lost roofs as the storm moved through. buff.ly/cKh0AeC #mswx

Hamburg, AR F4 #Tornado – October 26, 1941! An F4 hit around 11:15 PM, cutting a ~10-mile path through south Hamburg. ~53 homes were destroyed; 15 killed, 75 injured. Doctors set up a hotel hospital, and passing Camp Livingston soldiers stopped to help with rescue/police work. buff.ly/5OdnQxD #arwx

Luverne–Troy–Comer, AL F4 #Tornado – October 25, 1925!

A violent tornado tore a 65-mile path across four Alabama counties, killing 18 and injuring 60. Homes, schools & churches were leveled—corn ripped from the cob and fields left strewn with grain.
