In typical cat fashion he did things his way and made it about himself He left us on my birthday, right after we’d started a new very expensive medicine to lessen the chance of blood clots—which to be fair it seems he didn’t get
He was a very special big boy and we hope his brother is going to be ok

he was extremely cuddly the last few days, more than usual, mostly cycling between his water dish and our sides.
We’re kind of relieved he went how he did, he was at very high risk for painful blood clots and the vets warned us he was at high risk for this with his HCM at the stage it was.

He went back to the ER just about two weeks ago having trouble breathing with fluid in his lungs. despite coming home and being normal for a few days, it seems he never really recovered. He slowed down eating, so we knew something was up and brought in for another vet visit.

Rob has left us. His HCM had progressed and his kidneys weren’t holding up.
After his first emergency room visit almost 2 years ago, being properly medicated, he became a whole new cat. More active, playful and far more cuddly. We’re grateful he could have even that time with us.
