On contrary of other kind of hivemind creatures in scifi where its often animalistic assimilation and natural evolution themes, this one is centered about how deeply "human" it is, overflowing with emotions such as love, sadness or fear, but also optimistic and somewhat in compassion for others

The song ending with a goodbye to the great despair because the Techrot finally see us, or rather our influence, in other people and how even without our presence, were able to change things for the better, is cherry on cake for me and part of why I really love the Infestation/Techrot/Technocyte.

Once again if we go from the perspective that the song is the Techrot calling to our character than this song being played at the moment where our character is gone, while their's the most needed, really shows how the Techrot is on our side. The very first words being "Please stay..."

The second song being sing by On-lyne is called the Great Despair and is played while the others protagonists are facing a desperate situation while our character is gone, and with them, pretty much all hope of victory. And the Techrot cheering on us and wanting us to win become even more obvious !

It also acknowledge that its growth is only at its start, or maybe tell us that it knows mankind will not end ? "Something big is coming, but it's just the beginning" for me refers as mankind, and the virus, leaving the Earth for the rest of the Solar System.

One small spoilery thing I really like about the song is also how it references heat for many hype things but in the context of a nuke yet to have exploded it has another very strong meaning. "The city's on 11, it's 2000 degrees" as a way to both express the new year AND the nuke coming.

So while this song is a way from the Techrot to announce their progress and how we should join them and become one with them, it also seems like this zombie hivemind is... cheering us on succeeding in our quest ? Maybe even trying to help us ?

It seems that "loop" only strengthen them, telling us they're now "moving quicker" and "keeping on track", which may also be a nice way to remind us to not be late nor sidetracked on the story of 1999, very relevant advices on the events we have yet to live at that time.

The song is FILLED with references to the virus trying to announce its coming and luring people into joining "them". But it also teases that its not the first time they have tried this "We're back again to do this, and we're gonna do it right", which also reference some kind of a looping situation..

One thing I forgot to mention before going to the music because it is big spoilers hidden in very secondary content but the Techrot is not just a classical hivemind, its consciousness is shared through time AND timelines, making it aware of future events and even events of other timelines.

As such, we hear many songs in 1999 with lyrics, some of them written and sang by On-Lyne while they were infected with the Techrot. And those songs have a lot of interpretation layers, including it being a way for the Techrot to communicate and actually try to reason with us in all honesty.
