As a dual-citizen Italian-American I recognize Andrew Cuomo's gutter racism as an extension of the same racism my family faced after arriving in the U.S.

I just called Senators Gillibrand (212/688-6262) and Schumer (212/486-4430) to ask if they also question dual-citizens' loyalty to the U.S.

Dan Goldman, TV Lawyer, can't make a declarative statement that serial sexual harassment is disqualifying for public office.
Daniel Goldman went onto CNN earlier *TODAY* and said

1) He isn't sure if he'll vote for Andrew Cuomo
2) And that he won't endorse Mamdani because Mamdnai has not done enough condemnations of anti-Israel violence

What a fantastic and effective message. It centers the humanity of trans New Yorkers, it reminds us of the debt we owe for not adequately supporting those that came before us, and clearly identifies steps we can take in the short term to provide that support to current and future generations.
UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

This took less than two minutes and the person answering the call seemed to genuinely register the positive comment. My impression is that they are tallying feedback.
1. Led by Elon Musk, the far-right has exploded in a campaign to get Netflix to remove shows with queer and trans characters.

If Netflix capitulates to their demands, an already strained market for LGBTQ+ animators might become even more dire.

Musk's posts have been seen by tens of millions of users, and many conservatives are now attempting to force Netflix into a removal of LGBTQ+ content.

One concrete thing folks can do that are outraged by this is to call @governor.ny.gov Hochul at 518-474-8390 and demand she recall the legislature to pass the New York for All Act (A3506/S2235) that would prevent state and local agencies across the state from coordinating with ICE.

It sounds like there's really no need then to for Democrats to participate in budget negotiations if the President can nullify any agreement he wants after the fact.

@schumer.senate.gov and @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social should pull their caucuses away and let the Republicans pass their budget.

I don't know how to make it clearer to Dems that the more you waffle on this and invite debate, the more it's a political vulnerability. The more Dems equivocate the more they invite these types of heinous ads. You either stand up for trans folks proudly or you get hit with these ads.

Gov. Kathy Hochul is expected to announce New York’s involvement in the initiative on Thursday morning. The effort is similar to the West Coast Health Alliance — a bloc of four Democratic-controlled Western states, including California — that issued its own vaccine guidance this week.

One of the biggest cultural issues we have is that no major media or journalistic institutions have been reinforcing norms of what things *should* look like. That corruption isn’t normal, that cronyism isn’t normal, that lies and scandals should be punished, that incompetence is disqualifying.

Tell me your Board of Trustees are made up of folks that never step foot on mass transit without telling me....
Heads up!

We’re proposing major changes to our ticket policy and fares for next year:

🟩 No more ticket activation. One-way tickets will now auto-activate upon purchase. Both paper and mobile tickets will expire after four hours.

Maybe the real explanation is that Cuomo is a terrible manager and what everyone said about his poor management of the COVID response, CUNY/SUNY, the MTA and countless other state matters were right all along.

the democratic stance on immigration should be neil diamond and statue of liberty not trump lite
Becoming apparent every day how the elites in DC/NY's media/political bubble - drunk on right-wing media fed rhetoric - are completely out of touch with rest of the country on its nuanced perspective on immigration.
This is remarkable. New Quinnipiac poll finds support for path to legalization for most undocumented immigrants has risen to 64%. Only 31% want most of them deported.

That's a 14 point net swing for legalization since Trump took office.

On immigration generally, he's at 41-57!
