Wil Wheaton performs a beautiful reading of indie writing. Heartfelt and touching, this creation is art and a vibe for our time. Listen, share with your family and friends, and you will want to subscribe.
They're already spying on you at the airports, anyways. This only really means their rationale for the security theater at airports after 9/11 is bullshit... "a terrorist could never have $45 to get around the Real ID checks upon entering!"
Better to spy on you

Beautiful sunset from the dining patio at Gather on Maui. Wonderful mai tais here, too.

The "Dad Joke" from Merriman's. Why is it called the dad joke? The second ingredient is Updog.

Monkeypod Mai Tai. The lilikoi foam is delightful and the slice of Maui Gold pineapple is a nice snack -- and I always enjoy a nice snack with my beverages.

And we knew this. This wasn't speculation. We studied it, we had the talking points. We trained volunteers to explain this to people. It's not a surprise. Rich people don't flee places with good quality of life when we increase the quality of life. They might try to cheat us, but they don't leave.
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:

My brain: "did you take your pills before bed?"
Also my brain: "I don't know, did you?"
My brain: "I think so. You said something like 'this is for allergies, this is to sleep better...'"
Also my brain: "Are you sure? Was that tonight?"
Me: "shut up and go to sleep..."

The "real America" that politicians are so in love with is an anarcho-capitalist hellscape that extracts the wealth as efficiently as possible from the poor and middle-class, and distributes it to their wealthy benefactors/party owners. I think it's a bad thing and it should be acknowledged.

When privacy groups and Meta are agreeing that something is bad, it must be really bad.

If you haven't gotten around to listening -- Wil reads wonderful short stories by authors that may not be well recognized. Give it a listen and enjoy putting some well-produced short fiction in your ear holes.
I noticed yesterday that there are accounts I follow here, which I just miss because of the Timeline view (no complaints).

So, I'm trying something new with this week's Storytime, and I'm going to promote the everlivingshit out of it until even I am tired of seeing it, for maximum visibility.
