New DLR trains feel a lot like a light metro compared to the old ones that were more like coupled trams. Anyway, they're out and ready to ride! (one of them, at least)

just visited all DLR stations in 2:39:43! not a great time and got unlucky with some tight transfers, but glad to have done it.
I'll eagerly be out for a rematch when the new trains begin service - hopefully soon!

the most frustrating thing is they did hint at doing that in the wake of the "reimagined" service changes in 9/2023 - they even made some mockup posters - but nothing was acted on
I find it really annoying that the MacArthur Transfer is like a hidden secret for @bart.gov rather than an announcement made automatically every time a Berryessa train comes to Berkeley. The R-segment should always announce you can transfer to SF/SFO trains at MacArthur.

The most common origin-destination pair on BART is West Oakland to Embarcadero.
I bet most of that is drivers realizing that it's cheaper to park at West Oakland BART than somewhere in SF, and that a round-trip BART fare is (just a bit) cheaper than the one-way toll.
