the characterizations of animals in the Jimmy van Heusen/Johnny Burke composition “Swinging on a Star” has fucked up society for generations. Mules are cool and pigs are lovely both you guys can kick rocks

imagine if he was the frontman and you had to say it in a different order

imagine if we had all been saying it “John, Ringo, George, and Paul”

that would just FEEL wrong

“John, Paul, George and Ringo” is like the “Duck Duck Goose” of bands. the final thing can be different, that’s fine

I am not a musical theater person and though I read the book a while ago I have been a bit irritated at all the hype around this all this while

but THIS read on the movie and story and how it fits into now, from @chasestrangio.bsky.social and @imarajones.bsky.social is worth everyone's time:
You Think You’re Elphaba, But a Lot of You Are Glindas
A conversation from the podcast Vibe Check on impending fascism and queer allegory in Wicked.

The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

IT'S THAT TIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN, MOTHERFUCKERS!!!!!!!!!

THEY! ARE! ALL! BIRDS!
It is time for annual shenanigans

Warren and I had a discussion and decided: the 12 days of Christmas are all birds and here is why:

We already know that days 1-4 and 6-7 are birds. (Partridge, Turtle Doves, Colly/Calling birds, French Hens, Geese, and Swans).

So where are the other birds?

In many Western tales, you're taught to slay your monsters. In ours, you dance with them. You heal them. Our film is in its final days on Kickstarter: bit.ly/croc-dance-ks

Send that text. Record that voice memo. Someone just sent me one that made me tear up. You never know what someone is going through. Though my thing is public, you never know. ❤️

I am reminded of the existence of Arm Joe, a loose janky fighting game adaptation of Les Misérables

When the Three Stooges enter the public domain, we need a loose janky fighting game adaptation of the Three Stooges

This started the same time I got a new phone that didn't have a headphone jack, so I found my old MP3 player and have been listening to tunes on that while I'm out instead.

And I kid you not, my phone time has nearly been halved. It's amazing. Stop using Spotify, and stop using your phone for music

Actually does help tbh
PRO TIP

If you have YouTubers you like and follow and watch their videos a lot

leave innane/positive comments on their videos. The algo is all fucked up for YT creators and a lot of videos get sent to the void for whatever reason.

I hate doing it, but I've been trying to do it.
