I do not understand. A "reprieve" from US tariffs for the auto industry helps the US but does nothing to lessen uncertainty in Canada, which drives the threat of capital flight. As that is one of the biggest problems (and a reason for counter-tariffs) this would be no concession at all from the US.

It's a grim election night here in Ontario, lightened locally by seeing Catherine Fife (NDP) get reelected as MPP for Waterloo. Hardworking, producing real results, taking on concrete issues - she has done a great job and deserves the win.
