I'm from Dallas. While most Texans know how to pronounce it correctly given our proximity to the language, it's one of those country accent things people lean into as a signifier of how country they are. If that makes any sense.

That's a testament to their morals, not their education. The fact that there are bad actors within the subset of "educated people" does not mean that a more educated populace isn't a benefit for all society. The fact that MAGA voters are empirically less educated allows these people to operate.
