Katie Wilson - Bruce Harrell - Seattle City Mayor Update 11/20/2025

270k votes counted. 38k today. Probably another 20k to 40k to go. Maybe more?

KW up by 91 votes. She nets about 4,000 votes 0.75% points per drop. On her way to probably a 4k-8k win at at 1-2% over BH

As the now geriatric Chris Rock standup routine goes… I’m the “old man in the club”. This was at Boo! last night in Seattle with RL Grime providing the bangers. So it goes.

Probably preaching to the choir but Seattle is uniquely bad on the baby/dog axes.

I biked by this place today and was thinking, wow it’s crazy that Bluetooth is one of our “standards”.

Also, I was wearing Bluetooth headphones.

The saddest part about these concrete blocks is that combined with the decent foundation these structures represent a lot of the cost that goes into housing. Land, foundation, walls, labor. This terrible land use is exactly why I am not impressed with the tenure of Harrell and Nelson in Seattle

Funny. I think this is just middle age.

After a spring break trip to Venice I’m seeing a striking similarity…

Didn’t know that 1 was about 60% of 65…

Saw this sign 2 day ago. Called. They said they knew I was gonna call and they told me the market was gonna fall 10% in two days.

I think AI is now generating quotes for “news” stories.

He “showed obvious signs of death”.

A great showing from Seattle people highlighting the precariousness of our democracy and the unchecked power of an unelected oligarch

The root of my concern is actually a bit self centered. I just don’t want to be on the wrong side like German citizens in the 30s and 40s.

This type of ad leaves me speechless.

(That’s a pun because I see this trash ad on Duolingo)

This 7 minute video about the supposed largest living organism on earth was a good watch. It's a fungus in Oregon.

I’m always looking for graphs that tell an unexpected story. The continuing decline of people moving is a key demographic, economic, and cultural story of our time.

The first link managed to remove water from the shapes. The default shapes downloaded straight from US Census tend to not have small bodies of water removed. They do indeed kinda suck.

census tracts. not a terrible approximation of what I would call "sub-neighborhoods".

Gigantic multibillion dollar failures by trillion dollar corporations. Creating things no one wants or needs. I didn’t include Amazon’s useless search results or tesla’s cybertruck. For big tech it feels like we’re at the top.

Just finished a quick replacement of a few parts on this guy. I estimate we've made 7,000 shots at this point.

I know they’re a symbol of war and waste and pollution global warming and probably bother a lot of dogs, but the Blue Angels are fun to watch and it’s pretty cool to see what humans can achieve with technology.
