...compared to the alternative, it sure looks like Justice Jackson's intervention on Friday accomplished as much as it possibly could have given the limitations she faced. Lots of folks were surprised she didn't just force the majority's hand Friday night; I think her moves make even more sense now.

I feel like someone should’ve warned you. 😅

Paul, my deepest condolences. I know it’s pretty much impossible to take solace in anything right now, but just remember what a spectacular life Aaron had because of you, and now you’re granting him a dignified goodbye. I know it hurts like hell, but I don’t think we can do more for those we love.

I went with Dial 1119 too! Such a good film, and yes, Field is the best. I love when she describes herself as “a cheerer upper.”

Well, to be fair, he does have issues… 😅

It’s so beautifully played and paced and filmed: at times quite gruesome, at other times genuinely poetic. You’re right, though: through the years, it’s gotten lost in the shuffle. I wonder if the #FilmNoirClub has ever done a watchalong? 🤷‍♂️

Love this scene, and this film!! Great choice. 😊

Yeah, unlike Barbara and Barbra, it took me four freaking years of talking to these plants before they all bloomed at the same time. 😅😅

Kat, I spent yesterday doing more blocking than I have ever done in one day, of folks who were either a) obsessively Dem bashing or b) unconscionably rude. And today my timeline is so much saner. Perhaps not quite “sane” yet, but definitely saner. 😉

For the second time in two days, you’re introducing me to a noir I do not know at all. Putting it on my list, and thank you. 😊

It’s the worst game of whack-a-mole ever. Every time I block one, seven more emerge to take their place. 😵‍💫

I couldn’t do it either. It’s the first day I’ve been absolutely stumped to pick a favorite. 😅🤷‍♂️

Oh darn it, I forgot to set the DVR. Running to do it now!

SO good. I see that it’s on Criterion this month; it’s been a while since I’ve seen it, and I do not remember the ins and outs anymore – so it seems like the perfect time to rewatch. 😊

Gorgeous. 😊

Indeed it is, and thank God there are so many eloquent, tireless people here who are willing to take on the big accounts: the ones who do nothing but spread innuendo and misinformation about Democrats. I no longer have the energy for it, but man, there are some masterful people here who do. 👏

“Debra, you can’t keep cheese in a suitcase.” (That quote worked remarkably well with your name being Debra and all. 😅😅)
