It turns out what I actually wanted from shallow-focus was the subject isolation that comes from using a long focal length with a wide angle of view. A 305mm f6.3 on 8x10 beats the pants off any f1.2 lens I've used on small formats.

A beautiful sunrise over #Ottawa from my office window early this morning. It is around -15 so you can see the smoke rising from all of the buildings in the cold air!

Unfortunately I got all the way in before realising that I had forgotten my laptop so I am snugly working from home today!

Zürichsee. Ein ruhiges, weites Wasserpanorama bei Sonnenuntergang. Die Oberfläche des Sees reflektiert die sanften Rosé- und Orangetöne des Horizonts. A second image from the 5th of December showing my favourite twin Oak trees with this image captured so that the two trunks are in line giving the impression that there is only one tree and that it has numerous branches. It was also no coincidence that it was a Black woman reporter he railed against.
