It’s all connected. Eventually George Romney gets in the mix, and therefore, son Mitt.

So far, it is.

Not as much as they did on I Love Lucy.

And let’s not forget the Carousel of Progress’s 3 + ice box.

Where else are you gonna store the rocket pops?

Back then, WED relied on Disneyland’s staff shop for this kind of work, w/some direction from WED’s Fred Joerger. I’m guessing Bill Evans, who knew the location of every notable tree in So Cal, alerted them to the Moreton Fig. BTW, does it have a name, like Ella and Robert? … Mort?

Haven’t come across them yet. Also the trunk texture bears resemblance.

It didn’t help that my cubicle was at the literal crossroads of the building.

Yeah, I think the factory was intended for film. Did they build the barn?

Someone like Eric Jacobson or Dave Feiten would probably know.

No, I think he must’ve worked on it all the way through installation because there was a lot to oversee, from the show set drawings and scene fabrication, to the figures and their programming. He might have been assisted by someone like Walter Tyler or Bob Clatworthy.

I remember they did respond by bringing out that huge boxed tree to hide SM.

Funny, that video that Randy B wrote is cringy in a few places now, whereas it was canon for me once upon a time!

Visual intrusions and anachronisms are all over the park, but you know the bad ones when you see them!

I took a very similar shot back in the day.

I forgot about the broken fence but here it is, and I’m now electing you to tell me what else out of this pile they built or didn’t!

Yes, Marc had finished but there were still scenes unresolved. I remember interfacing with Claude and Ward only briefly, but a parade of other self-appointed art directors would swing by my desk and offer their opinions.

The timing mentioned in the caption aligns with my memory of working on WoM only a couple of weeks after I started in January ‘79. But the hot air balloon scene that I somewhat ideated for WoM must’ve overwritten my memory of this other scene,

One of the model builders might already have replaced the figures with a block of foam representing a house or structure. I had to provide the model builder with some ideas to finish out the scene, and I kept some of the scribbles…

This scene was developed in late January or early February 1979.

Ooh! I have broken fence drawings! And some others I’ll have to scan this evening!
