I wish this were not deadly accurate. But it certainly is.

Musk’s smirking obliteration of an agency providing lifesaving services all over the world—with zero study of or even interest in the lethal consequences—should permanently stain him, his cabal, and his corporate empire.
"If there were justice in the world, Musk would never be able to repair his reputation... Musk’s sojourn in government has revealed severe flaws in his character — a blithe, dehumanizing cruelty, and a deadly incuriosity. This should shape how he’s seen for the rest of his public life."

This is Labour's core problem here. The right will never allow Starmer a win on immigration because the issue is central to their appeal and therey' daren't lose it. So whatever he does will never be enough.

this was the ubiquitous tool for finding out information online to the extent that it's name became the verb for doing that, and then they invested all their money into a technology that replaces that usefulness with sentences like "whether tripe is kosher depends on the religion of the cow"

MPs are incentivised to go viral. Does that mean they are also incentivised to be provocative, whatever wing of politics they are on? Is that good for democracy?
In terms of the impact of X/Twitter on UK politics, it's worth remembering that some Reform UK MPs get not inconsiderable sums of money for their tweets.

Hmm I wonder WHY billionaires would get behind a party that wants to slash taxes for the very richest??

It's such a conundrum.

Nigel Farage says there's nothing wrong with Elon Musk donating to Reform UK.

Here's what he said about European born, US-based billionaire George Soros donating to UK and European human rights and pro-EU groups.

"This is an organised attempt... to undermine nation states, to undermine democracy".

Good example of what Musk's government efficiency commission will actually be: Elon saw the word "diversity" and his eyes turned red, thus he picks on a highly-trained worker who has nothing to do with DEI, could earn a ton more in the private sector, but has dedicated themselves to public service
