Trumpnomics: Get tariff money from US consumers on Chinese goods. Our farmers can’t sell their products because the Chinese refuse to pay our tariffs. China buys from farmers in Argentina instead. We send Argentina $20 billion. Then we pay our farmers to throw their crops away.

A friend of mine was on Charlie Kirk's "watch list" of Black professors. She received so many death and rape threats that her university offered her a security detail for the walk to class.

This is Kirk's legacy.

You would never know it from reading all of these legacy newspaper op-eds about him.

Takes nerdery to transcendent levels.
When writing “I Am The Walrus”, Lennon was first inspired by hearing a police siren! 🚨 🚓

Blimey, just watching a 20 year-old episode of Antiques Roadshow and it’s slow intensity is mesmerising. I still watch it, but they’ve jazzed it up to the point of distraction.

Trump administration considers suspending habeas corpus.

This would deny people the legal right to challenge one’s detention.

Arbitrary detention of opponents would be normalised.

No different from dictatorships.

Rule of law? Respect for human rights?

Just got back from visiting family in #Denmark. All I can say is it makes the UK look like the small-minded, underfunded crummy place it is. We do need to return to the 1960’s insofar as we need to return to proper Keynesianism.

What do these corporations have in common?

Netflix
Ford
Tesla
T-Mobile
Duke Energy
DISH Network
Metlife
Dominion Energy
United States Steel

In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes.

This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

Devastating analysis of Reeves’ policies from someone who can add up.
Rachel Reeves’ Spring Statement either doesn’t add up, or it reveals a deeply dangerous economic policy, and it may do both.

Rachel Reeves’ figures in the Spring Statement don‘t stack up – and are very scary

Years ago I did a kind of collage on one of my walls. Here’s a detail. I always thought she was the most preposterous character.

There’s no “flippin” or “blimey” in the world of autocorrect. I’m feeling awfully authentic darling.

Hey @andrewhickey.500songs.com , thank you for your latest, very touching, magnum opus. A bit personal as I used to hang out with Billy Hinsche. On new years 1984 I asked him how the holiday period had been. That was when I realised he was in the Beach Boys. ❤️ 💔

If you read one book in the next 12 months, it should be "The Deficit Myth" by @stephaniekelton.bsky.social (or any other book on Modern Monetary Theory). I promise it will uproot your ideas of how national economies and currencies work.

UK ministers are claiming ill health is over-medicalised in the UK. It isn’t. It’s under-politicised instead. It’s neoliberalism that is making us ill, but they refuse to recognise that fact.

Every week, I speak to people in my constituency struggling with mental health.

Many are worried about feeding their kids, paying the rent or losing benefits.

Britain's mental health crisis is the result of political choices. This government is choosing to push more people into despair.

One of the reasons electricity is so expensive in the UK is because the national grid was privatised and has one of the highest profit margins of any business. Nationalise it and reverse the hideous Tory legacy.
