I honestly think the ruling is a gift to him. The tariffs are wildly unpopular and are making him look stupid and weak. This gives him an out without losing face. If he were smart he’d take it. But. We all know he’s not smart.

Right now, domestic and foreign investors are essentially selling America. They are selling its bonds, stocks and currency, and the outlook for all 3. They are perhaps also selling the leadership. Tariffs and Trump create new equilibria for US assets and markets now saythey're at a lower level.
