G. F. Händel can be boring, but when he was on, he was brilliant. Just like Mozart.

Please listen to this 2 1/2 min fugue -- perhaps not as strict as Bach, but just as witty and clever. The subject is very deceptive rhythmically, and it goes from there...

I'd like to help my 10-yr-old son with challenging school subjects. Our current Swiss public school system discourages this, because, as his teacher said, "not every child has parents who can help with school." For this reason, they eliminated homework entirely in our city.
This logic is bull, IMO.

People who write about music in the magazines and internet and/or play music on the wireless:

Do you prefer your promos to come as a) downloads, b) streams, or c) physicals?

And why?

One good thing about having a cold is that I can sing Koyaanisqatsi in its original key.

This should go without saying, but it's okay if someone you don't agree with goes on a certain show or podcast. It's okay to be exposed to dissenting opinions. It's okay to feel uncomfortable. The biggest danger for the Democratic Party moving forward is the imposition of ideological purity tests.

Honestly, starting your posts with "honestly" is bad style.

Quote from a music forum: "Happily, I'm a musician and don't care much about vocals, so I'm used to focusing on music."

"Australia is not the first country to pass similar laws. About a dozen European and Latin American countries also have similar regulations. France was the first country to introduce comparable rules in 2017 and Germany later followed suit." Meanwhile even strangers think they're your boss in the UK
Australian workers now have the 'right to disconnect'
A law giving workers the legal "right to disconnect" from work has come into effect in Australia. This gives workers the right to ignore unreasonable contact from their employers outside of work hours...

Good to see that some people can identify humor without a smiley to spell it out.

The indication "p" in a musical score does not mean "power". Some people also have a misconception about the meaning of "mf".

Ravel’s "Gaspard de la nuit" is based on Bertrand’s poems, yet I'm convinced there's a very personal story behind it. Who was Ondine? #classicalmusic

For a time, I tried to get into vinyl; it didn't last. I still have all my CDs, and I like them more. Vinyl has a vibe, but I'm not that interested in crackles and hum. But: analog recordings sound better than digital ones.

As part of a meeting warm-up yesterday, the manager asked us to share pics of where we’d be if we didn’t have to be at our laptops. And most people chose beautiful beaches, understandably. But I chose this.
