Giving thanks for Lottie coming into my life this year.
It feels good to be able to breathe (and sleep) again after the #WorldSeries. I’m happy with the outcome, but my only quibble is with that the announcers just wouldn’t shut up! Makes me miss Vin Scully who could paint a picture with words but also knew when to let the pictures speak for themselves.

Big feelings day. First, we drove through Altadena for the first time since leaving So Cal in 2011. The house we rented in the 90s had burned to the ground. Drove back through the Pasadena no kings protest. This day has given me lots of sadness and anger but a tiny flicker of hope.

It’s the end of March and I’ve managed to sustain my Whole Foods boycott for a month and counting. I just hope that Fresh Market isn’t owned by another evil billionaire.

My heart is heavy today. I grew up seeing the USSR as the evil empire and America as symbol of hope for the world. Russia is still evil, but I can’t believe that now we are, too.

When the bottom falls out of the economy under Trump’s reckless leadership, I expect this Mar a Lago freak show will turn from a symbol of aspiration to one of envy, to disgust, to anger when MAGA realizes they’ve been had.

Amazing to see snow in Atlanta. Even more amazing is how quiet and peaceful it is with so few cars on the road.

Although it’s been more than 20 years since I lived in Altadena, I’m absolutely gutted to see the devastation. The house I rented there is gone. My heart goes out to my former neighbors and foothill friends.
