This chart presents the results. The changes taking place in the parties' coalitions in the late 1970s & early 1980s are evident as is the rather stable electoral period that emerged in 1996 - a period marked by more narrow election victories and the emergence of the familiar Red and Blue states. /7

Trump’s vote share in 2016 & 2020 as compared to 2024 poll average. NC is the only state he carried twice. I wonder if we’re looking at Trump’s vote ceilings. Biden hit or topped 50% in PA, MI, & NV. Nearly 50% in AZ, GA, & WI. Unlike 2016, 3rd party votes are more likely to hurt Trump this time.

Looks like @elonmusk is going to suspend himself. Deservedly so. Musk has spread fake news about voter fraud and fake news about the hurricane relief. He’s one of the most prolific purveyors of fake news on X.

It's a miracle that someone as wealthy as @elonmusk can also be as gullible and as stupid as @elonmusk. Truly amazing. Is he trying to make Twitter worth even less?

A truly amazing and inspiring image. Cheney reminds me of why I was a Republican for 2 decades. Her ouster from the party reminds me of why I no longer am one.

I’m thankful that my sister in NC was spared from the devastation, but my cousin and her family have lost everything. Their dream house by the river in Greene County, TN was consumed by that river. Just unimaginable devastation.

There simply isn’t a universe in which Trafalgar should be weighted as more credible than Monmouth or even Morning Consult. Trafalgar has the worst house effect of any pollster listed here. I’m not a Nate Silver hater, but does he ever update his model based on new information?

Our furry fella Dante is at the animal hospital for a few days. He has an intestinal blockage that led to an infection. They must flush him out & get antibiotics going. We spent all day at the hospital w/ him. Everyone who meets him understands why we’d do anything for him.

If Quinnipiac numbers are correct, Harris would only need one of the following to hit or pass 270 - AZ, GA, NC or WI. Trump would need all four. NV becomes either gravy or nothing.
