How can anyone say with a straight face that Jeff Kent, who was a perfectly average player until he got to San Francisco and *somehow* turned into an MVP at age 30 was definitely clean while holding the likes of Bonds, Clemens, Sheffield (and Manny & A-Rod, et al) out for juicing?

Never thought Cease was a fit for the Sox. They’re just not gonna outbid teams for the 30+ year old starters, and that may well be right approach.
