Tennessee Riverkeeper removes over 2,000 pounds of trash in Huntsville. “These cleanups are a great short-term solution, but we need bigger solutions that prevent this problem from getting worse, such as The Orion Ampitheater’s reusable cup program,” David Whiteside, of Tennessee Riverkeeper, said.

2,023 pounds of trash was removed by 18 people at Tennessee Riverkeeper's cleanup in Downtown Huntsville with Model Environment and The Orion Amphitheater. Single-use plastics were the most common items found.

Tennessee Riverkeeper removed approximately 2,903 pounds of trash from the Cumberland River in West Nashville. 16 people attended the cleanup and removed 28 tires, 16 bags of trash, 1 bag of recyclable materials, and lots of large debris. Single-use plastics were abundant, especially styrofoam.

863 pounds of waste removed from the Cumberland River in West Nashville! 15 people with Tennessee Riverkeeper removed 12 tires and 11 bags of trash and 1 bag of recyclables. Large debris such as construction and demolition pollution was also removed.
