The Trump Administration continues to attack on AmeriCorps. This time OMB is withholding nearly $200 million in FY25 AmeriCorps funds - impacting 1000s of AmeriCorps members & AmeriCorps Seniors volunteers across the country.

Impounding funds is illegal, cruel & is harming communities.

The attack on AmeriCorps has grown exponentially in the past few days. $400M in grants were terminated. 32,000+ service members displaced. 1,000+ nonprofits impacted. And thousands more communities face the loss of critical services.

“To billionaires in the White House, it may seem like a game. But to anyone with a heart, it’s about children’s lives and our own security, and what’s unfolding is sickening.” - @NickKristof on Trump’s illegal actions to eliminate #USAID
Yes, USAID could use reform, but this is demolition. Trump braids together cruelty, ignorance and shortsightedness, and calls it policy, as the world's richest men go after the worlds poorest children. My column: www.nytimes.com/2025/02/05/o...

I’ve seen U.S.A.I.D. operate around the world, and it’s not woke — it’s lifesaving.

The shutdown chaos is the full responsibility of Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

If a multibillionaire says jump, the GOP says "how high?"—and working people suffer.

As Democrats, let's remind the country that we're the ones fighting for a government that actually works for working people.
